Here's the Skinny

{via}
"What's the skinny?" you ask?  The skinny is that I'm participating in a weight loss challenge!  It's the best one I've come across and the 7 other women I'm losing with {hehe -that sounds funny...we're all losers...*giggle-cough*} are really great, hard working women!  It's called "Win, Lose, or Blog."  It's AWESOME!  Can you see the button in the right hand column?  You should -and after you look at it, you should CLICK IT!  I'm blogging about this {again} because I need supporters!  I need cheerleaders!  I need women to encourage me to stay away from the chocolates, snacks, and other sugary temptresses! And then I need hugs and cuddles for when I fall on my tushie.

So please, Please, PRETTY PLEASE go here and stalk my ups and downs, good and bad choices, funny and not so funny stories about me and my serious food addiction {and when I say food addiction, I really mean chocolate addiction...}.

In other news...I'm trying to pack for vacation, make a wedding gift {I PROMISE I'll post pic's of this one.  I'm really bad about that...}, exercise, do laundry, AND get to bed at a reasonable hour.  *sigh*  It's a good thing that it's a true vacation and not a weekender!  :o)  hehe

{LOVE} to be liked!

Hi everyone!  Before I post, I want to say that I have been exceedingly rude! {*squinch* SORRY!}

Not only have I ignored y'all this entire week/weekend, last week my girl Thrifty gave me TWO awards, and I didn't post them. I'm so excited that I've gotten my head from the clouds, feet on the ground, and am ready.  Besides being embarrassed, I'm really excited to report that I have been honored with....*drum rolllll....*

AND....

So the rule with these is that you list 7 things about yourself, and then you pass this on to 7 other blogs you LOVE!
So with priorities first, I'll start passing!  Some of these women may have already received the award, so if you have -sorry!  It just means that another blogger likes you!  ;o)
{30 minutes of debate later...}

Life in the Pitts
Night Owl Crafting
Seedlings
Six Cherries on Top
The Feminist Housewife
The Thrifty Ba {So you gave it to me -but I LOVE to read along with your sense of humor!  :o) }
The Paper Mama

Now on to me... 7 things....  Hmm....
1. Chocolate is my crack.
2. I'm addicted to my Kindle (I love to read more than I love to do anything else.  Add a slurpee to that and I'll be silent for hours.)!!  {Funny side story -my husband has been wondering what all of those Amizon.com charges on his card were...hehe.  Silly man SHOULD NOT have allowed the auto payment option...mwaaahahaha}
4. I HATE to exercise, LOVE to eat, and cry when those two choices = weight gain.
5. Hubs = my personal sunshine.  20 minutes with him makes everything better.
6. I have car-calepsy.  That means I can fall asleep in a moving vehicle with-in 5 minutes.
7. I think the most important thing I can do with my life is to be a mom.  :o)  If "baby probation" is ever lifted... *cough*

So now that you know the inner-workings of my brain, please let me know that you're addicted to your Kindles too.  If not, please move right along!  {JUST KIDDING!!!! -I love you even if you HATE the Kindle.  Mine was free...I'm not going to argue!}

Fabulous Friday

{Eclipse premiere -in I-MAX!- with some friends!}
Friday's are my favorite day of the week.  This is for a couple of reasons that I'll let your imagination dream up.  I'm sure we all have our own, right? ;o)  This is an exciting Friday, though, because my in-laws are coming, it's a holiday weekend, AND...ready for it?....I'm going to see Eclipse AGAIN at the drive in movie theatre with them and some friends!!!!!!!  *swoon*  Going to the midnight premier at 12:01 am on Wednesday was probably the highlight of my week, all things considered, and I'm looking forward to seeing my dearest husband in his Twi-fan mode.  He's a closet lover, but just because it's "entertaining."  *eyebrow wiggle*  Uhhh huh!  hehe.

I'm also looking forward to celebrating this holiday with my family.  The older I'm getting, getting married, and playing countless patriotic concerts, I'm beginning to realize how truly important this holiday is.  I hope that doesn't sound terrible, but I think as a child/young adult, we view it as a family celebration, and not a celebration of life/pursuit of happiness/freedom and justice, etc.  Laying in bed last night, I realized that I have NO 4th of July decorations.  None.  Not a flag, not a candle, not a sign, not a plaque not anything.  I'm WAY overdue in making something to show my support of our freedom and the people who fight for it every single day.  So this means that I'm looking for ideas.  If you have some, please let me know.

{Michael -looking like  a viking- and Me on our front porch -it's brand new,
barren, and not homey, but we're sure happy!}
On a more completely random topic, I have been working really hard to make our home more...homey.  I know that sounds silly, but we've been married for a year and a half and between both of our hectic schedules the house has been decorated, but the finishing touches haven't been completed.  We started off with just a porch, then this year I found a REALLY old dresser at Goodwill {still needs it's facelift}, rocking chairs from Lowes, a lamp and tiles from Goodwill, a couple of planters, and some awesomely fabulous home-made-by-me pillows.  All that's missing are a few finishing touches, you know?  I REALLY want to do something like this amazing project that was posted on Life in the Pitt's Creative Therapy session.  What do you think?

I hope you all have a marvelous Friday, and a safe and family-filled weekend!
